A redesigned website. Coming soon.
The Walter Reed Biosystematics Unit (WRBU) is a unique global resource. The result of a partnership between the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), and the Department of Entomology, Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History, WRBU is a world-renowned center of taxonomic excellence, advancing research to provide actionable entomological intelligence tools that best assess global vector-borne disease risk.
WRBU brings together a variety of experts to diagnose and describe species, develop diagnostic tools, conduct cutting-edge genetic and genomic research, undertake biosurveillance and vector incrimination, map and model vector spatio-temporal distribution, track changing global vector hazards, and develop partnerships with academia, military, and industry.
Species identification keys, the mosquito catalog, and VectorMap data are still available during the website redesign.
